We are located in deep South Georgia in a rural agricultural community. Our occupations are a farmer and a teacher. I (Jay) am a fifth generation farmer working on my family's farm, Joiner Farms, Inc. My wife (Marie) is a secondary public school teacher who specializes in Social Studies. Besides teaching at the high school level during the regular school day, Marie also occasionally teaches classes at a local Technical College and works with children in the primary schools in a program to help improve acheivement test scores. We were married in 2002 and have been involved in conformation showing since early 2003. Our first experience with an APBT or AmStaff was with a rescue by the name of Peaches. Peaches lived with us until she died of old age (she was twelve) in April 2006. Besides our interest in conformation we are also interested in obedience and agility which we have done locally for fun, but not in competition at this time.
